Gas Line Struck In Rohnert Park, Causes Leak: PG&E

PG&E received calls regarding the smell of gas in Rohnert Park and immediately sent crews to the scene, a spokesperson told Patch.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Pacific Gas & Electric crews worked to repair a gas leak Thursday near Costco in Rohnert Park, and the public was asked to continue avoiding the area.

The leak was in the area of Redwood Drive between Costco and Business Park Drive, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. The incident involved a gas line struck in the 5900 block of Redwood Drive.

"Earlier today, PG&E received calls regarding the smell of gas in Rohnert Park," PG&E Spokesperson Megan McFarland told Patch. "PG&E immediately dispatched to the scene, worked to make the area safe and shut off the flow of gas."

Five customers were impacted by the leak which was caused by a "dig-in" by a third party, McFarland told Patch.

At 12:45 p.m. Thursday, McFarland said PG&E was at the site making repairs, which were expected to take another five or six hours.

Redwood Drive was expected to remain closed between Martin Avenue and Business Park Drive until repairs to the gas line were completed, Rohnert Park DPS said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
