When asked about moving to Rohnert Park, Lowe, who's the son of one of the original founders, wrote in an email that "G&G Market is always looking to expand into areas that will allow us to conveniently serve or customers."

"The potential opening of a G&G Supermarket in Rohnert Park would be predicated on the potential customer base being identified, the cost of the real estate and the overall financial viability of such a project," Lowe said. "Rohnert Park is a great community that supports local companies like G&G Supermarkets."

The grocery store currently has two stores, one at 701 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy. in Petaluma and atΒ 1211 W. College Ave., Santa Rosa.

According to the company's website, G&G was started in 1963 byΒ Β Gee Kai Gong and Robert Gong. A few features include a deli, a space dedicated to Chinese take-out and a huge produce area.

The site is owned by the North Coast Investors Group, who has locations in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Eureka. Project managers were not available for comment.
