Happy birthday to us!

Rohnert Park Patch is one year old today. Some of you will remember some of the stories we covered that first day: that opened with help from the city. It was just a year ago that State Farm Insurance . We also launched with a look at how local food pantry , and with a feature on at Evergreen Elementary.

Since, we've published nearly 1,500 articles — coverering what the City Council has been up to in our biweekly live meeting blog. We've told stories about the impact of declining enrollment in the city's schools, about the tragic death of 2-year-old Calli Murray, profiled the proposed Vegas-style casino, and we've celebrated local do-gooders.

As your editor, I've had fun meeting and getting to know many of you — both online and in person. Looking back at the past year's ups and downs, it truly has been an adventure. And while many of you have said that our coverage of Rohnert Park has helped you stay informed about local issues and get civically engaged, we'd like to ask — what can we do better? Was there a story that made a difference to you? What should we be doing a better job of covering?

We want you to remain an important part of the site — it's your site — and we still want to cover all the issues that the community finds important. So, always feel free to reach out with tips or feedback and don't forget to leave comments on stories so the whole community can participate in the conversation.
