Police arrested two men and a woman found with narcotics and an infant in a Santa Rosa apartment after a month-long investigation.

The investigation, led by a Santa Rosa Police Property Crimes detective, began in October with a Santa Rosa man, Elijah Gaudet, 19.

Wednesday, during a search of Gaudet and his vehicle in the 2500 block of Santa Rosa Avenue by a Special Enforcement Team, police found what appeared to be psilocybin mushrooms, suspected fentanyl, and a digital scale. Police said a passenger, Lyrik Morales, 19, of Santa Rosa, had a firearm in the pocket of his jacket, despite a previous criminal conviction. The serial number had been removed from the gun, police said.

During a search of Gaudet's home on the 300 block of Yolanda Avenue, police said detectives found digital scales, packaging materials, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana products, cocaine, prescription pills, methamphetamine, and fentanyl in multiple rooms, drawers, shelves, and on the floor in various states of packaging.

Gaudet lived at the apartment with Taylor Elder, 23, and a 6-month-old infant. Both were in the apartment during the search. The narcotics and contaminated packaging materials were scattered around the residence, close to the infant's toys and clothing, potentially exposing the infant to the substances, police said.

Police arrested and charged Gaudet with the possession of narcotics and controlled substances for sale, as well as felony child endangerment. Elder was arrested and charged with felony child endangerment. Morales was charged with multiple firearm violations and for effacing the serial number from the gun.

They were taken to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. Authorities put the infant in the custody of a family member.
