Friday:

How about hitting the Friday Night Farmers Market for your weekend’s picnic fixins’? While you’re there, check out out the arts and crafts and stay around for the great music. This week it’s local band "The Mighty Groove"

If you go: The market opens from 5 p.m. and lasts till 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library and adjoining City Center Plaza in Rohnert Park. Remember to bring your bags!

Saturday:

Learn how to weather these tough economic times with a bit of coffee or tea and some conversation. The coffee meetup is designed for participants to think of creative ways to respond to the current crisis in the economy.

If you go: The coffee and tea will be free. The event takes place at 470 City Center Drive, across from the library. The event starts at 9 a.m.

Saturday:

This one’s for all the gem and mineral collectors out there. The 58^th Annual Gem and Mineral Society Show is sure to dazzle this year at Treasure Island.

This is the 58^th presentation of the original, most established annual show of its kind in San Francisco. Highlights include exclusive artifacts and jade carvings, such as a jade grandfather clock, a miniature jade model train, a jade coffee table; hundreds of fashioned jade stones and jewelry specimens by renowned artists and collectors.

If you go: Treasure Island at Building One. Address: One Avenue of the Palms, San Francisco. Come and be dazzled by the complete Spectrum of Jade: “Everything from the sublime to the ridiculous,” says show chair Ellen Nott. The show starts is on Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adults: $10 • Seniors & students: $8 • Children under 12: Free with a paid adult.
