Man Arrested Following Santa Rosa Park Stabbing
One suspect was arrested and another hospitalized following a stabbing at Bicentennial Park in Santa Rosa Tuesday, police said.
SANTA ROSA, CA — One man is in custody and another was taken to a hospital following a stabbing at Bicentennial Park in Santa Rosa on Tuesday evening, according to police.
The stabbing was reported at about 6:05 p.m. at the park located at 974 Russell Ave., where officers arrived to find a 43-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds, Santa Rosa police said. He was taken to a hospital and an update on his condition was not immediately available Wednesday morning.
Officers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Gerry Flickenger, who was found at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Russell Avenue and taken into custody without incident, according to police.

Investigators determined that Flickenger allegedly attacked the victim after an argument in the park. The victim suffered stab wounds to the head and neck, police said.
Flickenger was booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder. He is set to appear in court on Thursday morning, according to jail records.
