Man Dies In Rohnert Park Shooting

A man died from a single gunshot wound in the parking lot of a shopping center, police said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β€” A man was shot to death Thursday night at a Rohnert Park shopping center, police said.

A passerby called 911 at 6:30 p.m. and reported they heard a loud sound consistent with a gunshot and then saw a man on the ground in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 900 block of Golf Course Drive.

Police and fire personnel with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety were on scene within one minute and found a man on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest.

Emergency medical personnel from Rohnert Park and Sonoma County Fire performed life-saving efforts but were not able to resuscitate the man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not being released Friday as the investigation was ongoing, police said.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety asked anyone with information about the fatal shooting to call Detective Fermin Ramirez at 707-588-3597 and refer to case number 24-0293.
