North Bay Report: California Demographic Shift

Forty-two years after his death, the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. serves as a focal point in the ongoing local efforts to overcome racism and build community.Β 

This year's Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration begins with a youth-oriented event at Santa Rosa High School on Sunday, Jan. 16. The Following day, the traditional birthday observation activities will continue at Rev. Lee Turner's Santa Rosa Community Baptist Church.

Even for those how have lived through them, the changes of the past 43 years, since Dr. King's death, have been remarkable. Turner reflects on a recent reminder of just how different things were only half a century ago.

A newly discovered humanΒ retrovirusΒ may hold clues to the causes of chronic fatigue syndrome and some kinds of cancer. But it is only beginning to be studied.

One of the conditions first shown to be associated with the MLRV virus isΒ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Not wall medical professionals recopgnize this as a legitiemate disease, but Dr. Judy Mikovits sees it as a rea; and serious problem.
