Pair Arrested At Rohnert Park Motel With Meth, Loaded Revolver: Police

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies say they arrested two people for weapons and drug charges at a Rohnert Park motel Tuesday afternoon.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people for weapons and drug charges at a Rohnert Park motel yesterday after they were found to be in possession of meth and a loaded gun.

At about 1:15 pm on Tuesday, March 27, deputies contacted 43-year-old Santa Rosa resident Brian Brown and 41-year-old Sonoma resident Heather Byrd in the parking lot of the Motel 6 after Brown’s white GMC Yukonpulled in with no front license plate and suspended DMV registration.

When deputies made contact, Byrd admitted that she had a warrant and was on searchable probation.

During a search of a backpack, which neither Brown nor Byrd had claimed, they found methamphetamine, a meth pipe and a loaded .22 caliber revolver with a handle taped with electrical tape. Deputies determined the backpack was Brown’s based on the contents.

Brown, who is a convicted felon which prohibits him from possessing firearms, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon possessing ammunition and possession of a controlled substance while armed. He has since been released on a $30,000 bail bond.

Heather Byrd was booked for her no-bail warrant on drug charges and is being held at the Sonoma County Jail.
