Petaluma Man Used Gun To Assault, Threaten Rohnert Park Man: Cops
Rohnert Park public safety officials allege the Petaluma man threatened his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend on at least two occasions.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officers arrested a Petaluma man Tuesday for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend with a gun. Melvin James Malcolm, 35, threatened the boyfriend with a gun on Avram Avenue around 11 a.m. then left in his vehicle, public safety officials said.
The victim had told the Department of Public Safety in October that Malcolm had threatened him with a gun, but investigators determined there was not enough evidence for an arrest.
Police went to Malcolm's residence Tuesday and arrested him when he walked to his car. Malcolm admitted threatening his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend with a gun earlier Tuesday and also in October, public safety
officials said.

Officers found the gun in Malcolm's home and he was arrested on suspicion of the two assaults with a firearm and making criminal threats. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail under $60,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
Malcolm also was arrested on Feb. 28 for having a concealed gun in a vehicle, possessing a loaded firearm and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was booked into jail but posted bail, public safety officials said.
