Photos: Work Continues On Cotati SMART Rail Depot

Passenger platforms are being built as construction on the SMART station continues. Cotati is part of the first phase of the new rail line.

COTATI - Patch contributor Al Francis sent us some photos taken Tuesday of passenger platforms being built on each side of the train tracks for the Cotati SMART depot station.

Less than a year ago, Al published a photo essay of the newly built depot, and returned to the station last week to get these updated shots.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a voter-approved passenger rail and bicycle-pedestrian pathway project located in Marin and Sonoma counties.

When completed, the system will serve a 70-mile corridor from Larkspur to Cloverdale, with a first phase from San Rafael to Santa Rosa that includes this Cotati station.
