Program That Employs Disabled Seeks Help
A local worker, who helps maintain the city's parks, creek paths and other open spaces, had his bike stolen recently. OADS is seeking the community's help.

A Rohnert Park man is asking for the community's help. Officials with Old Adobe Developmental Services, a community-based organization that employs people with disabilities locally, wrote to Rohnert Park Patch this week to notify us that Doug Barrett, a worker, had his bike stolen recently.
"Doug needs some help," said Elizabeth Clary, the organization's executive director in an email. "Doug's three wheel bike was stolen last week, and he could really use some support from his community to get a new one. He is a hard worker and a great citizen. He's always helping others out, and it just kills me that someone would take away his only mode of transportation."
Doug has lived in Rohnert Park with his wife, Nancy, for quite some time, and everyone knows him, Clary says. They raised two children and are now enjoying life as grandparents. Doug, who has a developmental disability, works for OADS, maintaining public spaces under a .
