Public Asked To Help ID Suspect In Rohnert Park Attempted Assault
An attempted assault is under investigation in Rohnert Park and police are seeking the community's help in identifying the suspect.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety asked for the public's help to identify anyone matching the description of a suspect in the attempted assault of a woman Sunday night.
A woman was walking on Fairway Drive at 8:27 p.m. Sunday when a man riding a black-colored bicycle on the south sidewalk got off his bike and groped her, then tried to assault her, Rohnert Park DPS Spokesperson J. P. Pritchard said.
The suspect then fled the scene, Pritchard said.

The suspect was described as a short, heavyset Hispanic or mixed-race man wearing a black beanie and a black jacket and riding a black bicycle.
"The Department is asking for help in identifying anyone matching the description and reporting it to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety," Pritchard said.

Anyone with pertinent information can contact Detective Ramirez at 707-584-2600. All information will be considered confidential, Pritchard said.
"While the Department of Public Safety is actively investigating these incidents, we would like to remind you to be aware while walking alone after dark," Pritchard said. "If you can, walk with someone. Only use one earbud or headphone so you can hear things around you. If you see any suspicious activity, please do not hesitate to call 707-584-2600 or if an emergency 911."
