Rep. Thompson To Host Forum On Substance Abuse
The forum begins at 9:30 a.m., and will be held at Sonoma State University. It will also include talk about the dangers of self-medication.

ROHNERT PARK - U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) will host a community forum Tuesday morning on the topics of substance abuse and the dangers of self-medication.
The forum begins at 9:30 a.m., and will be held at Sonoma State University. The discussion will focus on an overview of current trends and the impacts of the two topics.
According to Thompson's office, efforts by federal, state and local agencies as well as non-profits, research institutions and foundations to address the issues will also be discussed.

Among those slated to appear with Thompson at the forum are:
- Dr. Marina Tolou-Shams, University of California, San Francisco
- Melissa Jones, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
- Don Braegar, California Department of Health Care Services
- Cathy Boe, Aldea Child & Family Services
- Garen Staglin, Chairman of One Mind Institute and IMHRO
The forum will be held in the Student Center Ballroom on the campus of Sonoma State University.
