Rohnert Park Ex Con Busted With 1.5 Lbs of Meth

Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office recovered 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine & over $3,600 in cash from a Rohnert Park ex con.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- A man with a criminal history dating back to the 1970s has been busted -- again -- for selling drugs.

At about 7:50 pm on March 20, detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by patrol deputies served a search warrant related to a methamphetamine sales investigation, and Albert Basso, 56, of Rohnert Park, was detained in the area of Commerce Boulevard and Rohnert Park Expressway inside a vehicle.

During a search of his person and vehicle, about 60 grams (two ounces) of methamphetamine was located. A search warrant was served at Basso’s Rohnert Park apartment in the 800 block of Carlita Circle and seized was about 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine in numerous packages and over $3,600 in cash.

Basso has been arrested and convicted of drug sales violations multiple times dating back to 1979. Basso was booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for Possessing and Transporting methamphetamine for purposes of sales.

He has since been released after posting a $40,000 bail bond, according to jail records.
