SANTA ROSA, CA β€” Buy a sandwich and help out someone in need: win-win. On Wednesday, Jersey Mike’s sub shops across the Bay Area will donate 100 percent of their sales to Project Night Night, a charity that provides unhoused children with a care package containing a stuffed animal, blanket, and an age-appropriate children’s book.

The initiative is part of the company’s 14th annual Day of Giving, when 2,500 Jersey Mike’s locations around the country are expected to give over $20 million to local charities. Since the Month of Giving began in 2011, the chain has raised more than $67 million, according to a company news release. Stores have also been collecting donations for their chosen charities for the entire month.

Some 15 stores around the Bay Area will donate all of their sales Wednesday to Project Night Night. In Santa Rosa, Jersey Mike’s is located at 2688 Santa Rosa Ave., and is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Napa store is at 627 Trancas St. and is also open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
