Some Sonoma County Schools Closed Friday Due To Storm-Related Issues

Issues include fallen trees, lack of electricity, flooding or other storm-related concerns.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Office of Education announced Thursday night that numerous schools will be closed Friday due to storm-related issues such as fallen trees, lack of electricity, flooding or other related concerns.

Sonoma County has 40 school districts. If a district is not listed below, county school officials said it should be assumed that districts are following their regular calendar.

The following school districts or school sites will be closed Friday:

  • Fort Ross Elementary District
  • Guerneville School District
  • Harmony Union School District
  • Horicon School District
  • Kashia School District
  • Montgomery Elementary District

County school officials said it should be noted that there are some schools in the county that remain on winter break.
