Sonoma County CHP Officers to be Honored for DUI Arrest Numbers

The officers being honored arrested a total of 589 people on DUI charges in 2013.

A number of North BayΒ CHP officers will be honored next monthΒ for locking up nearly 600Β people on DUI charges in 2013.

A total of 14 CHP officers based at the agency's Rohnert Park office will be honored at the luncheon, which will be hosted byΒ the California Office of Traffic Safety, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Avoid Coalitions, according to a CHP press release.

The officers who will receive accolades are:

  • Brooks Faraco (45Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Daniel Gunter (50Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Brendon Hampton (38Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Marcus Hawkins (55Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Todd Heron (57Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Thomas Herve (64Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Clayton Peterson (25Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Chris Pettyjohn (25Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Cyril Ruffin (38Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Brandon Smith (26Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Tim Snyder (25Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • David Stewart (34Β DUIΒ arrests)
  • Greg White (78Β DUIΒ arrests)
They made 589 DUI arrests in 2013, according to the press release. In all, CHP officers from the Santa Rosa area arrested 1,062 drivers on charges of driving under the influence last year. There were 266 alcohol-related collisions in the area last year, injuring 128 people and killing six, according to the press release.

None of those fatalities occurred during the holiday season, when the Avoid the 13 task force stepped up enforcement and made 153 arrests on DUI charges.
