PHOTOS: Striking AT&T Workers Picket Offices In Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa
About 17,000 AT&T technicians and customer service workers today launched a strike in California and Nevada.
NORTH BAY, CA -- About 17,000 AT&T workers launched a strike in California and Nevada on Wednesday -- including thousands in Sonoma County and elsewhere in the Bay Area -- in response to failed labor negotiations that have been ongoing for about a year.
Picketing began as early as 6 am in some of the telecommunications company's North Bay offices and call centers. The above photos show workers picketing a Rohnert Park call center and Santa Rosa during the first morning of the strike.
The strike, which could go on indefinitely, includes work on new construction of landline phone services, as well as line installation and repairs.

The picketing workers are members of the Communications Workers of America union, which alleges that AT&T has made changes to workersβ job requirements without union agreement.
