How do you know the teacher?

He was my daughter Annabella's teacher for the last two years.

What does this person teach?

He teaches a special day class in junior high. It is a combined 6th, 7th, and 8th grade small group special education class.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

His class was the first time my daughter had a good school year. She made friends, she felt confident in her schoolwork and herself, she finally had a place where she felt comfortable. She was in his class for 7th and 8th grade and it was the best!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Well, a special education teacher has to have a certain ability to be calming yet firm influence. Mr Emerson seemed to be able to handle his little flock of odd ducks and their parent/guardians with ease and style.
