ROHNERT PARK, CA — Police have arrested a 17-year-old Sonoma County resident suspected in the fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian Friday evening near Sonoma State University.

The pedestrian was struck in Rohnert Park at about 6:30 p.m. by a pickup truck, believed to be a 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, which fled west on Southwest Boulevard from Snyder Lane.

Rohnert Park Police searched the Petaluma location of the suspect and the vehicle.

The 17-year-old male was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with vehicular manslaughter and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Police have not released the name of the teen or victim.
