What's Halloween Like in Rohnert Park?

Hey readers! What are the holidays like in Rohnert Park? I moved here exactly one year ago, which makes this my first Halloween here.
As I walked my dog around Copeland Creek on Sunday, I got to thinking about what to cover here during the holidays. The first community event I attended last year was the Veterans Day celebration at the Community Center (I loved it!); I was astonished by local celebrity Scott Weaver and his "" on Cielo Circle and I covered the Christmas tree lighting at City Center Plaza.
But, the best way to find out about Rohnert Park is to ask you — the people who've lived here longer than I have. So, what's the city like over Halloween? Where are the most trick-or-treaters? Where should I go for photos? Are there places people avoid? Should I buy candy — will people come?

How about local businesses? Do they give out candy?
I'd love you to share your insight with me about local holiday events — whether it's something I should cover for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or New Year's. Is your charity, organization or church celebrating? Are there charity efforts underway? What's going on that I should know about? Tell me in the comments or send an email to angela.hart@patch.com.
