Witnesses Sought In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash Near Penngrove: CHP
The CHP is looking to speak with anyone who possibly witnessed the incident in an unincorporated area of Sonoma County.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β Investigators with the California Highway Patrol were looking to speaking with anyone who may have information about a fatal hit-and-run that took place over the weekend in the Penngrove area.
Officers with the CHP responded at 11:58 p.m. Saturday to reports of a person walking in the roadway on Petaluma Hill Road, south of East Railroad Avenue. Just minutes later, CHP dispatchers received calls that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP's initial investigation indicated the male pedestrian was walking in the roadway along northbound Petaluma Hill Road when he was struck by a vehicle, causing fatal injuries.
The unknown vehicle fled the scene after the crash, the CHP said.

The CHP asked anyone with any knowledge about the crash to call the Santa Rosa CHP Office at 707-588-1400 during normal business hours. Afterhours, callers should contact the CHP's Golden Gate Communications Center at 707-641-8300.
The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office was expected to release the pedestrian's identity was his family members were properly notified.
