Woman Tries To Sell Softball Bats Stolen From Rohnert Park: Cops
But the softball bats worth more than $1,000 had serial numbers, police said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β A 33-year-old Santa Rosa woman was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of attempting to sell three stolen softball bats worth more than $1,000 to an undercover police detective, according to Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officials. Police said Rose Ruth Hernandez allegedly received the stolen bats from her daughter.
According to police, the bats were in a package on a porch stolen from an address on Alta Avenue on Rohnert Park on Monday.
The victim said the three bats had serial numbers, and later found the bats posted for sale on the "Offer Up" app on Tuesday, and contacted police. A police detective contacted Hernandez to setup a meeting to examine
the bats.

Police said Hernandez and the detective agreed to a deal on the bats, and the police swooped on the scene and detained her and her boyfriend, who drove her to the meeting.
It was determined that Hernandez β who is on probation β received the bats from her daughter, who police said was the person who allegedly stole the package from the porch of the home on Alta Avenue.

Police didn't say if Hernandez's boyfriend or her daughter had been arrested in connection with the case.
Hernandez is currently being held without bail at the Sonoma County Jail.
