The 75-unit Prospect Villa development will include ground-floor retail and a mix of one- to four-bedroom apartments, aiming to meet local housing needs and potentially spur more construction along the corridor. Regional rent and market trends suggest strong demand for new units in the San Gabriel Valley. 
• Sixteen Alleged SGV Gang Members in Federal Custody (mynewsla.com) — A Rosemead resident is among 20 people federally indicted in a sweeping case targeting an alleged San Gabriel Valley gang accused of shootings, kidnappings, and large-scale drug and gun trafficking. Authorities say the investigation tied suspects to violent incidents in Covina and La Puente, and seized meth, fentanyl pills, dozens of firearms, body armor, and cash, with some defendants facing potential life sentences.
• Soccer Recap: Rosemead Takes a Loss (maxpreps.com) — Rosemead High’s boys soccer team is in a rough patch, dropping a 3-1 road match to Damien on Monday and then falling 5-1 to El Monte on Tuesday. The Panthers, now 3-5-1, got their lone goal against Damien from Zackery Alvarado, his second of the season, as Damien extended its own winning streak to three.
