$1K Reward Offered for Copper Theft Info
Recent copper thefts at Maidu Regional Park soccer fields will cost about $26K to repair and will take two to four weeks to repair. If you have information that leads to an arrest, you'll get a monetary reward.

In hopes of enticing people to come forward with information on recent copper wire thefts at , Roseville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward.
If your information leads to an arrest in the copper wire thefts at the park, you’ll get a $1,000 reward, Roseville Police announced today.
The theft occurred sometime on the night of Sept. 22 or the early morning of Sept. 23, when a thief removed the ground-level cement covers from the light poles and stripped the copper wire out of them. This made the lights at the soccer fields in operable.

It will take two to four weeks and approximately $26,000 to make the repairs, according to Roseville Park officials.
"The lights at Maidu are extensive and very costly,” said Nick Alexander, vice president of Roseville Crime Stoppers, in a release. “It's difficult to repair this vandalism at a time when city funds are stretched thin. Meanwhile, many youth soccer teams are now displaced and need to seek other venues to practice and play, due to the actions of a criminal."

Copper thefts have been reported throughout the entire region, in some cases stripping copper wire from school, parks and other public facilities.
In Roseville, several parks and facilities have been hit this year, but this is the costliest theft yet, according to Roseville Police.
This theft also leaves the soccer fields in the dark for weeks during the height of the youth soccer season.
