A Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of robbery following a bank robbery Friday evening.

A Roseville man surrendered to police after an attempted robbery of Bank of America on Foothills Boulevard Friday evening.

Just before 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, officers responded to a reported robbery in progress at Bank of America, located at 4012 Foothills Blvd.  The suspect, 20-year-old John Lubeck, entered the bank and told customers to leave due to a robbery, according to police. He pointed a handgun at bank employees, demanding money from the cash drawers and the vault, according to a press release.

The first officer on scene looked through the windows of the bank and saw the robber holding a handgun.  The robber saw the officer standing outside, and immediately surrendered. Lubeck was taken into custody without further incident.  The "handgun" used in the robbery was found to be a pellet gun designed as a replica of a Colt pistol, according to police.
