DUI Checkpoint Set for Friday Night in Roseville
Tonight, a county-wide impaired-driving crackdown will kick off in Roseville.

A Placer County-wide crackdown on impaired driving will kick off with a driving under the influence/driver’s license checkpoint in Roseville tonight.
The is joining Placer County's Avoid the 7 DUI Task Force and nearly 10,000 other law enforcement agencies nationwide in support of an intensive crackdown on impaired driving that will run Aug. 19 through Sept. 5. The crackdown is known as "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."
In Placer County, checkpoints are set for Aug. 26 in Rocklin, Aug. 27 in Lincoln and another in Roseville Sept. 2

In 2009 alone, 10,839 people died in crashes in which a driver or motorcycle rider was at or above the legal limit, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA. Drivers ages 21 to 24 have the highest percentage of alcohol-impaired-driving fatalities in motor vehicle traffic crashes, according to the NHTSA.
The national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over crackdown is led by NHTSA with the California Avoid DUI Task Force Campaign contributing high-visibility enforcement and heightened public awareness through publicity.
