If you’re looking to book a romantic dinner for two to celebrate something special or just because, you might want to check out ’s menu: Crush Favorites for Two. For $39.95, you get a three-course dinner for two filled with mouth-watering options. Choose between Coconut Tiger Prawns or Chicken and Brie Rolls for the first course, followed by Snap Crackle Salmon, Rotisserie Half Chicken or Drunken Brandy Steak for the main course and for dessert either the Chocolate “Bomb” or Pecan Praline Cheesecake. Sounds delicious, right?

Hawks Lunch and Winemaker Dinner

First, let’s talk lunch at Hawks Restaurant in Granite Bay. They recently introduced a new lunch menu that runs through Friday, Sept. 16 and is filled with seasonal summer ingredients. Here are a few of the new dishes: Crispy corn cake, stewed tomatoes and Parmesan cream; Hot roast beef sandwich, caramelized onions and cheddar cheese; and Heirloom tomato and white cheddar tartine, baby lettuces. Now, let’s talk dinner; more specifically a winemaker dinner. If your guilty pleasure is sampling delicious wine paired with dishes that create a full wine-tasting experience, mark your calendar for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15. That’s when Hawks is hosting a David Girard Winemaker’s Dinner. Each course is served with a different David Girard wine such as Wild King Salmon served with David Girard Grenache, El Dorado 2009 and Bitter Chocolate Budino for dessert alongside David Girard Mourvedre Port, El Dorado 2009. Tickets are $110 per person. Check out the full menu here

Sushi Smackdown

Roseville sushi restaurant is participating in a that’s part of a pilot program, “Sushi N the City” that may be pitched to the Food Network. Your ticket lets you taste 18 dishes from the restaurant and judge the restaurant’s food, atmosphere and service. The Sushi Smackdown is held Tuesday nights through Sept. 20. Spread the word to your sushi lover friends too.
