Update: Gas Leak Fire Erupts at Riverside and Cirby
Roseville Police reported a natural gas fire occurred at 6:30 p.m. The intersection is now open to traffic.
A natural gas fire occurred about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the middle of the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Cirby Way in Roseville.
As of 9:30 a.m., Cirby Way and Riverside Avenue in Roseville are now open in all directions, police said.
It appears that a 4-inch natural gas line underneath the intersection ruptured. PG&E crews arrived on scene to assess and begin repairs. No injuries have been reported, according to Roseville Police.

Businesses surrounding the intersection were evacuated. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
Roseville Fire and Police have formed a unified command at the scene and remained at the scene while PG&E crews make repairs. Their crews are digging down to the pipe 50 feet on either side of the leak to cap the section off and make the repairs, according to Roseville Police Spokesperson Dee Dee Gunther.
