Mayor Roccucci Gives State of the City

The city expects to hire a Roseville Fire chief by the end of the year, the mayor announced in the State of the City address.

Keeping the City of Roseville healthy - financially, physically and emotionally - was the theme to Wednesday evening's State of the City address.

Mayor Pauline Roccucci addressed a room full of residents in the council chambers Oct. 5 and briefly discussed the low crime rate, , the and the status of a new fire chief.

Roccucci said the hope is to have a fire chief hired by the end of the year to replace . Latta replaced Interim Chief Dean Grundy in July.

Roccucci said this time next year, she hopes to see the Town Square as a vibrant part of the city.

"It will be the heart of the city's meeting place," she said.

The Westfield Galleria at Roseville re-opened its doors Oct. 6 and Roccucci said it was a big boost, just in time for the holidays.

"This is a fantastic boost to the city, financially and emotionally," she said.
