Police Report Increase in Catalytic Converter Thefts in Roseville — Again
Half a dozen catalytic converter thefts have been reported in the last 10 days, Roseville Police report.

Within the last 10 days, at least six catalytic converters were stolen from cars in Roseville, Roseville Police report.
The targeted vehicles are typically Toyota SUVs or pickup trucks — vehicles that are high off the ground and give thieves access to the catalytic converters. Police said the thieves crawl under the cars, unbolt or saw the converters off and then sell them to metal recyclers.
Catalytic converters are expensive emission-control devices mounted on the undercarriage of vehicles and contain small amounts of precious metals.

Here's a look at when and where the thefts occurred:
Between midnight and 2 p.m. on May 20, someone stole two catalytic converters from a 2002 Toyota Sequoia parked in the 8900 block of Rising Mist Way.

Between May 21 and the morning of May 26, someone stole the catalytic converter from a 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup parked in a driveway in the 2000 block of Dorrington Drive.
Sometime between 11 p.m. May 24 and 8 a.m. May 25, someone tried to steal a catalytic converter from a Toyota SUV in the 1500 block of Carbury Avenue.
At about 4 a.m. May 25, someone stole the catalytic converter from a 2003 Toyota pickup parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Callawassie Way. The victim heard his car alarm sound at 4 a.m. and went outside, but didn't see anyone.
Overnight May 29/30, someone stole two catalytic converters from vehicles in the 100 block of Riverside Avenue.
