Robocalls Lead to Roseville Electric Customer Complaints

The calls are from an outside company and not authorized by Roseville Electric.

Maybe you've received a robocall within the last few days that starts like this:

"Attention Roseville Electric customer: Roseville Electric would like to notify you ..."

According to Vonette McCauley, spokesperson for Roseville Electric, those calls are not from Roseville Electric employees and have not been authorized by Roseville Electric.

"The opening line is misleading," McCauley said. "(Robocalls have) not been a marketing tactic we have used."

The City of Roseville and Roseville Electric have received numerous complaints from customers regarding the calls, which are regarding an air conditioning rebate program, McCauley said.

"We're having to field a lot of complaint calls," she said.

Some customers and businesses have received several calls, some of who may not even be eligible for the program, McCauley said.

McCauley said they've tried contacting the company to change the message.

If you're receiving the calls, McCauley said there may be an opt-out option from the company. Opting out of the calls will not result in customers opting out of Roseville Electric communication.
