Roseville DMV Closed for Mold Removal

Black mold was discovered in the janitor's closet at the Roseville Department of Motor Vehicles Office, forcing the office to close temporarily.

The Office closed Wednesday afternoon following test results that confirmed black mold was present in the office.

According to Jan Mendoza, a spokesperson with the California DMV, employees noticed a “musky smell” coming from the janitor’s closet in the back of the office about a couple weeks ago. Testing results came back today confirming that that smell was black mold, or stachybotrys chartarum mold.

The Roseville office has been closed indefinitely as crews come in to analyze what needs to be cleaned, removed and repaired, Mendoza said.
