Should Roseville Change its Speed Limits?
The Roseville City Council on Wednesday will discuss changing some speed limits in town.

A recent survey by city staff confirmed what many residents might suspect: Not everyone in Roseville drives the speed limit.
The city of Roseville is looking at speed limits around town after a survey measuring the average speeds of drivers, and could raise some speed limits and lower others. The Roseville City Council will meet Wednesday to discuss the issue.
Roseville city staff explain in a staff report that certain types of roads have default speed limits, and in order to enforce a difference speed limit by RADAR, an Engineering and Traffic Survey is required. The speed limit "should be set at the first 5 mph increment nearest the" speed 85 percent of traffic is found by the survey to be driving–or slower.

The city can lower a speed limit another 5 mph if the road has a history of accidents, has bicycle lanes or another condition.
City staff are not proposing any changes to 17 of the roadways surveyed, and here is what they're suggesting for the others:
