Suspected Drunk Driver Strikes Ladder Truck, Almost Hits Firefighter
Wednesday night, while firefighters responded to a pipe that had burst in the attic of a Roseville retirement home, a suspected drunk driver drove on scene, almost hitting a firefighter walking in the area.

A Roseville firefighter was almost hit by a suspected drunk driver about 9 p.m. Wednesday at the scene of an emergency.
While Roseville firefighters responded to a pipe that had burst in the attic of Sunrise Retirement Villa on Sunrise Boulevard, a suspected drunk driver drove through the parking lot emergency scene, striking a parked ladder truck and nearly missing a firefighter who was walking in the area.
The firefighter dodged the driver of a 1992 Mazda sedan and was not injured, according to Roseville Fire Department spokesman Jeff Carman.

The firefighter took the driver’s keys away and detained him until Roseville Police officers arrived.
Minor damage to the ladder truck was reported.

Thomas Rolland Michael, 57, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. He is currently in custody in the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail.
