Tell Us Where You Go for Your Favorite Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Melted cheese in between two buttery pieces of bread — who doesn't love a good grilled cheese sandwich? 

In honor of National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, which happens to be today, and April being National Grilled Cheese Month, we want to know where you get the best grilled cheese sandwich. Do you make it at home (please share your recipe if you do!) or do you have a favorite local spot?

When I think of grilled cheese, one of the first that comes to mind is five-way grilled cheese. Their sandwich is made with cheddar, jack, Swiss and mozzarella in between slices of grilled garlic Parmesan sourdough bread. Yum. Pair that with a cup of their corn chowder and it may be my favorite rainy-day meal out.

Another I'm tempted to try is one of grilled cheese specials, which are offered this month to honor the national grilled cheese celebration. Through April 15, their special grilled cheese is made with jalapeno jack and Tillamook cheddar cheeses, fresh jalapenos, tomatoes and chipotle aioli. From April 16-22, they'll offer a feta and provolone grilled cheese with olives, spinach with a sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. Lastly, from April 23-29, they'll serve a grilled sandwich with blue and Swiss cheeses, spinach, roasted red peppers and basil pesto.
