Today in Roseville: College Fair, Principal for a Day

There’s a theme today in Roseville: education. Today, chamber members will be taking over Roseville schools and tonight, there’s a college fair.

Inside the Patch:

College Fair – Give your high school students a peek at what’s in store for the post-graduation if they chose the college route. Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities will be on hand at ’s gym and cafeteria, handing out info on college life. The fair is hosted by the Roseville Joint Union High School District and goes from 6-8 p.m. tonight, Oct. 4.

Principal for a Day – Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce members will be in charge at some Roseville schools today. But for today only, as the chamber hosts its 21st annual Principal for a Day. The members will step into the shoes of a principal and learn how the role of the principal has changed over the years, see how the day is organized and how to lead a successful school.

College Calculator – Speaking of college, an article in The Sacramento Bee today announces a new college calculator that college websites are required to have by Oct. 29, which will help students and families compare costs and different campuses. They’re called “net price calculators” and will help you calculate the actual cost of attending college, minus any financial aid and grants. You can read the full article here.
