We have two ways to improve your life and the lives of others today: a small business speaker series will help business professionals and a nonprofit gives you the opportunity to help feed starving children around the world.

Overcome Cold Calling Fears – With the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce’s help, today you can learn how to overcome your phone fears when it comes to cold calling. This small business speaker series is free for chamber members, $25 for non-members and will be held today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chamber office, 650 Douglas Blvd. Be sure to bring your lunch too. Sponsor Meals – The holidays are coming and if you’re looking for a way for your business to give back, consider sponsoring meals that will go to starving children. hopes to provide 500,000 meals for malnourished children around the world. The nonprofit is looking for sponsors of meals from businesses, civic groups and individuals. For more information, visit the website here

Local Heroes – Two Sacramento area residents are being called heroes for two separate events. One Cool and one Citrus Heights resident earned Carnegie medals for their heroic acts, according to The Sacramento Bee. Both locals were instrumental in trying to save another person.
