Week in Review, Aug. 28: New Retailers, Meet the Chef, Students Beware, More

We had a mix of stories this week on Roseville Patch from remembering former Oakmont High principal Kathleen Sirovy and new retailers at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville to meeting Taro Arai, chef of Mikuni Sushi restaurants and warning students and parents of a male who reportedly grabbed a girl near a school.

Here's a look at what went on in Roseville last week:

- Former Oakmont High Principal Kathleen Sirovy lost her battle to brain cancer Friday evening. Two Facebook pages have been set up to give people platforms to share memories and condolences.

- Buckhorn Grill, Porsche Design, Sanrio are on the list of new shops to open at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville in the Fall.

- Kathleen Sirovy lost her battle to brain cancer Aug. 19. People are invited to a “celebration of life” at Oakmont High School, where she served as principal.

- The Placer County District Attorney’s Office review found that Sgt. Vaness Bogardus did not commit a crime when he shot a burglary suspect in a Roseville park while off-duty.

- Police are searching for a white male who reportedly grabbed a middle school-age student on her way to school Thursday morning.

- Roseville councilmembers approved an ordinance to determine that the city will pay to keep its redevelopment agency and move forward with city projects.
