Week in Review, Oct. 9: Galleria Grand Re-opening, PG&E Pipe, Copper Thefts, More

This week, many residents and non-residents headed to the Westfield Galleria at Roseville for the grand re-opening of its Macy's wing. It was a comeback story for the shopping center following a fire October 2010. Residents also lined up to be one of the first shoppers in the 99-Cent Only Store, which also opened last week. And on Friday night, locals partied at the newest Roseville nightclub, The Vault Nightclub, in Old Town Roseville.

Here's a look at what went on in Roseville last week:

- The 99-Cent Only Store celebrated its grand opening in Roseville by offering flat screen TVs to the first nine customers in line for 99 cents.

- The City of Roseville released information following a meeting between city staff and PG&E officials today, Oct. 3. The pipe is scheduled to be replaced overnight on Oct. 4, weather permitting.

- The Roseville mall celebrated a grand re-opening of the Macy's wing Thursday. Their motto: "We're back. Better than ever."

- The cause of the gas leak fire that occurred at the Riverside Avenue and Cirby Way intersection Sept. 27 is still unknown.

- Copper thefts left Maidu Park soccer fields dark for the last two weeks and cost about $24,500 in repairs.

- Roseville Police started a new program where they hand out “citations” to kids who are wearing their helmets while riding their bike. The “citation” is good for a treat at a local business.

- A new nightclub celebrates its grand opening Friday, Oct. 7.

- The Roseville mall celebrated its grand re-opening Oct. 6 with it's motto: "We're back and better than ever."
