This week in Roseville, we had a wide variety of mix. Education-wise, a new charter school opened and Woodcreek High celebrated its homecoming. Crime-wise, a bank robbery suspect surrendered and a fight broke out at the Maidu Community Center.

- A Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of robbery following a bank robbery on the evening of Sept. 2.

- Sushi lovers sample 18 dishes from top Sacramento area sushi restaurants and judge which serves the best sushi. It’s all part of a pilot show, “Sushi N the City” that will be pitched to the Food Network.

- A roundup of crime Sept. 2-4 from the Roseville Police Department.

- John Adams Academy in Roseville opened Tuesday with 600 students from kindergarten through 10th grade.

- Deborah Getz began Never Forget our Fallen in response to the death of her son, Kristofer Thomas, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in February 2007.

- The Roseville Fire Hazmat Team responded to an anhydrous ammonia leak at the JR Davis Railyard about 2 a.m. Thursday.

- City Council approved changes to an ordinance that will allow electronic billboards on city-owned property that could generate General Fund revenue.

- Law loosens statutory protections for voyeurs, changing the statute of limitations so that criminal complaints may be filed within one year of a hidden recording’s discovery.
