Weekend Planner: City’s 65th Park, Harvest Run, PD Tours, More

This weekend, there is a holiday craft fair, Harvest Festival, 5K and fun run and more.

Friday, Oct. 21

First 5 Placer Outcome Faire – This free event features First 5 Placer’s Daddy’s Tool Kit, giving dads tools to become better dads. Fathers and fathers-to-be can participate in a diaper toss game and win prizes. This faire also includes information about First 5 Placer programs for you and your young kids.

Park Dedication – The city welcomes its 65th park with a dedication ceremony. The park, Harrigan Greens, is named after Virgil Harrigan who donated missions of dollars from his estate to multiple local charities.

Harvest Run – A Harvest 5K Run and One Mile Fun Run will raise money for programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Placer County. The run is hosted by the Arc of California and Placer ARC. Costumes are welcome.
When: Registration at 8 a.m., Race starts at 9 a.m. Sunday
Where: Maidu Park, 1550 Maidu Drive
Cost: $25 for the 5K, $10 for one-mile fun run
