Weekend Weather Creates Fire Risks

Be careful this weekend – according to Roseville Fire, it could be a dangerous few days for fires.

Single-digit humidity combined with dry lightening expected at low elevations and high north winds could create a busy weekend, fire-wise. But the is prepared. According to Jeff Carman, Roseville Fire spokesman, they have increased the number of firefighters working on each shift as a precaution this weekend.

When there is a weather pattern similar to what is predicted this weekend, Carman said they treat it as if “every spark that hits the ground is going to start a fire.”

Carman said people need to be cautious and if they see or smell fire or smoke, call 911 immediately, as any delay in notification of a fire could be dangerous.
