5 Inmates Hospitalized After Riot At California State Prison, Sacramento, CDCR Says

Prison staff used chemical agents and non-lethal weapons to restore order, the CDCR said.

FOLSOM – Five inmates from the California State Prison, Sacramento were injured and taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning after officials said a riot involving about 40 inmates broke out in the main yard.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said it called for a code three riot around 10 a.m., saying some of the approximately 40 inmates were armed with improvised weapons.
