$605K Mega Millions Ticket Sold In NorCal

CALIFORNIA — Someone in Sugar Land, Texas is likely contemplating how sweet life is right now — that's where an $800 million jackpot winning ticket was sold for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing.
In California, the top prize matched the first five regular balls drawn but missed the mega ball. The single ticket that matched 5/5 is worth $605,656. It was sold at Gold Ranch Lottery in Floriston, right off Interstate Highway 80 just before the Nevada border.

But wait, there's more! Wednesday night's SuperLotto Plus drawing has a ticket worth $35,308. It was sold at the 7-11 store in Truckee. The winning numbers are: 1, 7, 9, 25, 37 and the mega ball is 6.
Friday's Mega Millions jackpot resets to the minimum $20 million. Saturday's SuperLotto Plus jackpot is $22 million, while Saturday's Powerball jackpot is $152 million.

If you are a winner, the federal government takes a 24 percent cut of any prize worth $5,000 or more before your loot is distributed.
California is one of just eight states that do not tax lottery winnings. The others are Florida, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.
