STOCKTON, CA — An 18-year-old man was shot in downtown Stockton early Saturday morning, according to the Stockton Police Department.
The victim was walking with a group of friends just after midnight in the 1400 block of North El Dorado Street when another group approached them and tried to rob the victim.
After a fight, one of the shooting victims' friends dropped their property, which was taken by the suspect. The victim was shot when he demanded it back.

Police said he was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. No arrests were immediately made.
