New recuperative care center opens in North Sacramento, filling gap for unhoused people leaving the hospital (capradio.org) — Sacramento’s largest recuperative care center has just opened in North Sacramento, giving unhoused residents leaving local hospitals a safe place to heal instead of returning to the streets. The Community Care Center offers 50 beds, on-site medical staff, behavioral health support, and housing help, with plans to expand to 130 beds by March.

Pursuit of stolen dump truck from Roseville ends with Highway 50 crash in Sacramento (sacbee.com) — A stolen dump truck pursuit that began in Roseville ended with the vehicle overturning on eastbound Highway 50 in Sacramento, blocking two left lanes near the 51st Street overpass during the Wednesday evening commute. CHP officers detained the driver, who is being booked into Sacramento County Main Jail, and the crash happened just yards from October’s fatal medical helicopter crash site.

Man injured in north Sacramento shooting and crash, police say (kcra.com) — A man was shot and injured near El Camino Avenue and Princeton Street in north Sacramento on Wednesday, and police say a related crash briefly closed part of El Camino for about an hour. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, and officers have not released any suspect information as the investigation continues.
