Unidentified Human Remains Found During Trash Cleanup: Sheriff
Unidentified human remains were found just near Ukiah over the weekend, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office.
UKIAH, CA — Unidentified human remains were found just near Ukiah over the weekend, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office.
Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, Sheriff's deputies responded to a call that human remains were found in the 1800 block of Low Gap Road. According to the Sheriff's Office, the remains were found by a local nonprofit group cleaning up trash in the area.
Further investigation led deputies to confirm the remains were that of an adult.
Authorities said law enforcement agencies are checking active missing persons cases to identify the corpse. Foul play is not suspected, according to the Sheriff's Office.
