​13 Injured In North County Crash

A two-vehicle collision at an Escondido intersection sent more than a dozen people to hospitals.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A two-vehicle collision at an Escondido intersection sent more than a dozen people to hospitals Thursday.

The collision at Juniper Street and Second Avenue occurred about 2 p.m., according to the Escondido Police Department.

Following the collision, one of the involved vehicles veered out of the street crossing and plowed into a commercial structure, Sgt. Lee Stewart said.

Paramedics took 13 people to hospitals for treatment of various injuries — none believed to be life-threatening — and precautionary evaluations, according to police.
